SACRED MUSIC FROM INDIA, TURKEY AND SPAIN
A musical journey along the ancient Silk Road through Sufi tradition, North Indian classical music, improvisation and Mediterranean sounds.
THE PROJECT
A musical encounter between East and West
Silk Road Spirit brings together three artists with extensive international careers from different regions of the ancient Silk Road: Turkish saz master and singer Latif Bolat, Indian tabla master Rashmi Bhatt, and Spanish flutist, composer and improviser Rodrigo Parejo.
Born from intercultural curiosity and a shared spirit of artistic dialogue, the project weaves together the spiritual music of the Turkish Sufi tradition, the expressive rhythmic language of North Indian classical music and the warm Mediterranean sounds of the Iberian Peninsula in a performance where tradition and improvisation coexist naturally.
Each concert combines music, mystical poetry and, in selected performances, the participation of Whirling Dervishes, creating an immersive artistic experience where sound, spirituality and cultural heritage meet on a shared stage.
More than a concert, Silk Road Spirit is an invitation to rediscover the ancient Silk Road as a living space of encounter, dialogue and artistic exchange. An artistic dialogue where ancient traditions continue to inspire contemporary creation.

For centuries, the Silk Road connected East and West, enabling the exchange of goods, knowledge, religions and artistic traditions. More than a commercial route, it became a meeting place where diverse cultures shaped one another through continuous dialogue.
Inspired by this historical legacy, Silk Road Spirit revives the spirit of that great cultural journey, bringing together the musical traditions of Turkey, India and Spain in a contemporary artistic encounter.

THE PROGRAMME
Every performance is a musical journey through some of the most representative spiritual and musical traditions of the ancient Silk Road. The repertoire combines traditional music, original compositions and contemporary improvisation.

- — Mystical poetry by Rumi, Yunus Emre, Kabir, Amir Khusro and Ibn Arabi
- — Soundscapes created with flutes, saz, tabla and live electronics
